The new year is here and traditionally that means it’s time to set Resolutions.
So, should you set Resolutions?
Absolutely! Without a doubt you should define what you want for the new year. But let’s create goals not resolutions. Here’s why – resolutions have a stigma attached to them – they’re something we set each year but there isn’t much expectation we’ll actually follow through to completion. So set goals to set yourself up for success.
Once you actually set your Goals for the year, how to do you stick to them?
Have a Plan
How are you going to get from where you are right now to where you want to be? You must create a detailed roadmap to get you there. This includes breaking down big goals into smaller more manageable pieces. And instead of seeing a project in its entirety, focus on the action steps required to move the project forward.
Accountability
Whether you use a coach, personal trainer, mastermind group, business partner – make sure you have people in your life that will help stick to your plan. We don’t need more willpower to help us stick to our plan, what we need is more accountability.
Only Choose a Few
DO NOT attempt to move forward on all the goals you have for 2011 on January 1st. Doing this sets you up for failure and overwhelm. You want to make change gradually. So choose a handful of either very simple goals or high priority goals. Once you get those moving forward and create momentum then add in a few more.
Personal Buy-In
Believe that you can do it and you’re worthy of being, doing, or having what you desire. Without this belief – without personal buy-in it is very difficult to achieve your goals.
Fear, worry, doubt, negative mind-chatter, and procrastination are all signs that a part of you doesn’t believe it’s possible. These are the dream stealers that can show up at any time. If any of these are present for you, addressing personal buy-in will be the key to your success.

As holiday shopping wraps up in the coming week, what gift are you going to give yourself this year? What about giving yourself the gift of coaching?
Coaching can help you figure out where you’re at, where you want to be and how to get there. Wouldn’t it feel great to start off the new year by giving yourself the gift of what you truly want and desire? Or to be able to identify the things that are holding you back from living the life you choose?
Perhaps you’re not ready to fully commit to individual coaching, if this sounds like you, check out our “New Life” Tele-Seminar Series. This Tele-Seminar Series gives you a taste of coaching, with all the benefits of individual coaching, in a group setting.
Perhaps you still have that one hard-to-buy-for person on your list. Maybe they’ve mentioned over the past year how they felt stuck, regretful, or unhappy about one or more things in their life. How great would it be to give them the gift of their life back?
We look forward to working with you in 2011!!!

This transformational seminar series is for you!!
Do you long to know your purpose?
Do you feel blocked?
Have you reached a plateau in your personal progression?
Personal Mastery doesn’t have to be a difficult journey. It can be fun and exciting! Start creating an Abundant, Joyful and Vibrant Life NOW!!
You already know the “Secret” – your thoughts, feelings & emotions are powerful creation energies which form your reality. The New Life Tele-Seminars address HOW you can shape the changes you are choosing and HOW you can design the life that is yours to claim.
We have the ability to create our reality and the way we experience the world. What we lack is either the know-how to make it happen or the consistent implementation of what we do know. In a world where our creation energy fuels every reality we experience, we have a choice to stay in current reality we have co-created or to elevate and co-create a more ideal reality.
What are you going to choose? Are you going to keep doing what you’ve been doing or take a leap and create a new reality?
In the New Life Tele-Seminars we isolate barriers to happiness, fulfillment, prosperity and personal expansion. Each Tele-Seminar is equivalent to three 1-hour Serenity Life Coaching sessions utilizing the SVH reformatting tools to release the barriers and blocks that can obstruct the ideal life you choose to create.
We invite you to review the Tele-Seminar topics and register for those that speak to your heart. Register for the whole series or register for one at a time. Know that they can be implemented in any order and if the live Tele-Seminar date has past, you still have an opportunity to access all the benefits of each Tele-Seminar through the recording.

My husband and I are trying to determine how we will approach the subject of Santa Clause with our daughter. Breanna is only 11 months so there won’t be much conversation with her about Santa this year but we want to clarify our approach for the years to come.
We decided from the beginning we wanted to be up-front and honest with Breanna as she grows up. No white lies. No tricking. No bribing. We want to create a relationship based on trust, honesty and integrity. In order to do that, it is important for us, as the parents, to remember all three of those values are two way streets. Many childhoods are filled with white lies from well-meaning parents that often create the foundation for mistrust in adulthood. We’re choosing something different for Breanna.
So how do we approach the topic of Santa Clause which is essentially a lie? We’ve already determined we’re not going to tell her the traditional Christmas / Santa Clause lie (big guy in red suit – lives in the North Pole – brings you presents if you’re good). Any ideas on how to approach the topic?
Here is what I’m thinking: We tell her what Santa Clause represents. The spirit of Santa Clause is about gifting and blessing others – those we care about and those who are less fortunate than us. There will be gifts in our home but no gifts from Santa. The idea of Santa Clause is one filled with magic and hope – a message that if you’re good then good things will happen to you. These are wonderful messages and we intend to teach her how to find magic and hope all year long and how to approach life so she co-creates the good things instead of them happening to her. We also plan to explore the religious beliefs people follow during the holiday season to instill a foundation of honor and an understanding of what other families do and believe.
So does this approach set up a foundation of trust, honesty and integrity? Or are we robbing her of the childhood experience of believing in Santa Clause?
What is your opinion? We’ve definitely been asking ourselves the same question.

The holidays can be a stressful time of year – our social calendars are full, we’re spending more money than usual with our holiday shopping, eating more than normal (family meals, cookies), and somewhere in the mix we’re traveling to visit family. Alone each of these experiences can be stressful. Handling them all at once can be downright overwhelming.
Here are 5 Tips to move thru the Holidays with ease & grace:
1) Only Attend Events You Truly Want to Attend
Determine which activities you truly want to attend and put those in your calendar first.
For events you feel obligated or required to attend, brainstorm ways to turn the “have to go” feeling into a “want to go” feeling. This will make for a happier event/activity for everyone involved. Your time and energy are precious so you have every right to choose not to attend a “required” event – especially if you’re finding it difficult to shift into the “want to go” energy. Remember, those around you can feel and perceive if you actually want to be there or not so make sure you do before you head out the door.
2) Shop Within Your Budget
Create a budget for your holiday spending. Determine how much you want to spend total, break that number down into how much you’ll spend for the people on your gift list and STICK TO IT. Putting yourself into debt isn’t worth the stress it will bring later. If you can’t pay cash for it, don’t buy it.
Budget not allowing you to do what you want? Get creative. Make gifts, shop sales, make cookies, bread or other food items, or decide not to exchange gifts with certain people.
Start shopping early for the 2011 holiday season so you aren’t faced with this same scenario next year.
3) Enjoy & Return to How You Normally Eat
Enjoy your holiday meals but get right back on track with how you normally eat. If you don’t typically eat 10 cookies a day, don’t do it now. If you don’t typically eat a lot of stuffing and casseroles, don’t do it now. Leave the leftovers at the host’s house. Take your extra holiday cookies to work to share.
Just because it ‘tis the season to gain weight, doesn’t mean you need to follow along.
4) Know Your Family Means Well
When your aunt asks you “When are you going to get married? ” (and you’re not dating anyone) or your mother-in-law asks you “When are you going to give me grandchildren?”, know your family probably isn’t out to make you feel bad or put pressure on you. They simply don’t think about how these questions will be received before they ask them. If you have a feel for the reason behind the question address that instead of or in addition to the actual question.
5) Plan, Plan, Plan
Whether it’s traveling with small children, dreading the questions your family will ask, eating wisely, an overbooked social calendar or concern about how to make your holiday dollars stretch, the key is to PLAN!
• Define the potential downfalls or upsets.
• Plan a course of action if any of those should occur.
• Enjoy yourself. You have nothing to worry about because you have a plan of action.
Embrace this holiday season for everything it is for you and remember to slow down enough to be present and enjoy the memories you’re making.

When the holidays roll around each year, are you plagued with thoughts of concern over how you’re going to survive all of the festivities and make everyone happy?
Like most people, it’s likely that you have multiple holiday celebrations to attend. Try keeping communication open and planning together in order to incorporate everyone’s plans. And be flexible. Who says that you HAVE to celebrate Thanksgiving on Thanksgiving itself?
Or try creating a new holiday tradition. Maybe you and your family decide to have a brunch instead of dinner. Get creative.
If you’re the one hosting the holiday festivities, delegate the menu. Get others involved. Maybe have the kids help clean the house.
The holidays are about spending time and celebrating with the ones you love. Do what you can to make them more enjoyable for everyone.

As a Thanksgiving tradition, my family and I use today to review the past year to highlight the things we’re thankful for. However, this year, I took the extra step to create my own gratitude journal in order to help me focus on the things I’m thankful for all year long; to aid me in seeing the positive side of all things; and to help me unblock abundance.
Today I’m grateful…
- to have the opportunity to continually re-invent myself.
- for new experiences and adventures.
- for love.
- to have a partner that sometimes must be the yang to my yin, thankfully he can fill the role.
- for having the opportunity to live in a beautiful tropical paradise, Hawaii.
- for those that were able to visit us in Hawaii and share in our love of it’s beauty.
- that the distance couldn’t hold us back, as we were able to make it back to the mainland for multiple important family and friend events.
- for old friends, that they were there for me through the entire year.
- for new friends, to growing our friendship and the things we can learn from each other.
- that my dad was able to survive his accident and has pretty much returned to “normal.”
- for my family relationships that grew stronger.
- for my mom and the relationship that we have and for all the things she’s taught me.
- for the opportunity to hire my own life coach.
- for the opportunity, time and ability to focus on starting my own business.
- for the awareness coaching has brought me.
- for the opportunity to join Erin and New Realms of Possibility LLC.
And as grateful as I am for everything in the past year, I’m really grateful for all of the opportunities that I know will exist for me in the upcoming year.
What are you grateful for this year?

With the birth of my daughter, Breanna, in January, my values have shifted to include family in a way that never existed before. I’m filled with gratitude every time I look at her. I think about how easy the pregnancy and birth were and how I work from home which allows me to see her throughout the day. I love that I’m completely connected to what she does each day. I’m grateful for the two wonderful nannies that came into our life this year. I’m grateful that Breanna’s existence encourages us to visit our families on a more consistent basis. Children seem to put things in prospective in a very beautiful way. Before Breanna, I worked nonstop (my other baby) but now my life is much more balanced.
I’m also grateful for…
…being able to give birth to Breanna without the use of drugs, as we planned.
…having a wonderful mother who loves spending time with her granddaughter.
…our nanny, JuJu, who loves Breanna as her own grandchild.
…our families who stay connected and make a conscious effort to be a part of our life.
…our new house which provides enough space for guests and baby.
…embracing the holidays and seasons in a new way – from a child’s point-of-view.
…our choice to incorporate more fun & enjoyment into our lives.
…the time & choice to make 95% of Breanna’s baby food. Time consuming but so rewarding.
…the opportunity to watch Breanna grow – to smile, roll over, crawl and walk. Amazing!
…falling in love with cooking again.
…losing all 86 pounds of baby weight.
…my husband’s job transition / transformation / redefinition.
…all the hard work and long hours my husband puts into his career to help make our dreams a reality.
…Angie joining New Realms of Possibility LLC.
…our beautiful, new website.
…being a soon-to-be published author (contributing author for 7 Points of Impact – coming soon).
…moving from new-mommy-maintenance mode in my business to established-mommy-building mode.
…the birth of some beautiful business alliances.
…my wonderful clients.
Sharing these things about my life makes my heart smile.
What are you grateful for? What fills your heart with joy and maked you smile inside and out??
